The present edited volume covers a wide array of issues related to the Princely era in Ukrainian history. 

It traditionally focuses on the history of Galicia-Volhynia state and sources interpretation. Chronologically it ranges from the origins of Ukrainian statehood to the times of its loss in the mid- to late 14th century. 

The contributions to the volume discuss developments on a vast territory ranging from Crime and northern parts on the Dnieper’s left bank to Western Volhynia, where Polish-Ukrainian borderland was subsequently formed.
